What the 8 months ask of you.

Mentoring Session

About once a month, scheduled jointly by mentors and mentees.

Main Activities

Participate in the main KAMP X activities throughout the program.

Special sessions to learn from experienced leaders and professionals.

Switch mentors and exchange perspectives with other members of the program.

KAMP X Trip

A 2-day, 1-night trip together.

Overall Commitment

Approximately 4–6 hours per month on average, designed to fit alongside a full-time job.

Applicants should be able to attend the main activities and mentoring sessions consistently throughout the program.

Questions you probably have.

An 8-month Next Leader Mentorship Program for KU Engineering alumni: small groups of one mentor to three mentees, around 7–10 groups in total, led by senior alumni leaders.

A course teaches content. Mentorship is a relationship: a senior leader helps you think through your own questions, shares lived experience and walks with you over time — no lectures, no exams.

KU Engineering alumni aged 30 or under, with at least four years of work experience, who are ready to take the next step in their growth and leadership journey.

No. KAMP X is open to all KU Engineering alumni who meet the criteria, regardless of past KAMP participation.

Roughly one mentoring session per month from January to August, plus the 2D1N outing, X-Switch and Wisdom Sessions. Expect around 4–6 hours a month.

Based on your application, interview and stated goals. Each mentor works with three mentees; X-Switch also gives you time with a second mentor.

KAMP X is a non-profit program. The program covers part of the cost of its activities, and participants are responsible for some expenses themselves, such as accommodation and travel.

Yes. Mentorship works through continuity, so we ask every mentee to commit to the full journey from January to August 2027.
